Shawn Settle is a realistic fiction writer who writes contemporary and historical fiction for ages 15 and up. She spent most of her childhood in the coastal town of Wilmington, NC, and graduated from Wake Forest University.  Shawn has been writing since she was in third grade, and is currently an elementary teacher in Orange Grove, Texas, teaching underprivileged children. In 2007, her kitchen renovation was featured in the Better Homes and Garden "I Did It." column.  In addition to being handy around the house, Shawn is an avid traveler and cross-stitcher. Her summers are spent traveling around the U.S. with her family. Her goal of visiting all 50 states was accomplished on June 15, 2017. It's not uncommon for places she has visited to show up in her stories.
